  1. DSA and Competition

Dr. James Li

In recent years there are more secondary schools who offer DSA to good students before PSLE. DSA gives students a chance to get into their desired school. Below is the brief introduction to DSA and some of our experience.

1. What is DSA?

DSA is an admission exercise to allow participating schools to select some P6 students for admission to Secondary 1 based on their achievements and talents before the PSLE results are released. DSA is administered by individual secondary school not MOE. More information is shown in MOE website http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/dsa-sec.

9  Conclusions

1. Competition certificate is not good enough for the top 4 school (RGS, NanYang Girl, Hwa Chong and RI) but it is very much welcomed in second level top schools (River Valley, Dunman, NUS High and SST)

2. School result is the basic consideration for DSA pre-selection unless your kids have a national level CCA.

3. Good interview performance also plays a very important role in final result.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
